Lee Valley Regional Park Authority

LTGDC is the lead regeneration agency for the Lower Lea Valley and the London Riverside - the two areas with the greatest potential for growth in London and the Thames Gateway.

Lee Valley Regional Park Authority own and manage East India Dock Basin and Three Mills Green, two of the Phase 1 park sites.

If you enjoy wildlife, sport, events, countryside, heritage, fantastic open spaces with great places to stay, then the Lee Valley Regional Park is the place for you. The Regional Park is a destination for sport and leisure and stretches for 42kms (26 miles) between Ware in Hertfordshire, through Essex to the River Thames at East India Dock Basin and provides leisure activities which suit all ages, tastes and abilities.

The Regional Park is 4,000 hectares (10,000 acres) and runs both side of the River Lee, its unique natural features have been shaped by a mosaic of countryside areas, urban green spaces, heritage sites, country parks, nature reserves and lake and riverside trails, plus some excellent sports and recreation centres.

London Thames Gateway Development Corporation

LTGDC is the lead regeneration agency for the Lower Lea Valley and the London Riverside - the two areas with the greatest potential for growth in London and the Thames Gateway.

LTGDC will invest £237 million in these areas by 2011. This will create 8,200 new homes and 7,900 new jobs, along with the necessary infrastructure to support growth. In doing so, we will attract a further £1.8 billion of private sector investment.

Latz + Partner

Multiple award-winning landscape architect Latz + Partner will be leading the design of the Lea River park. The areas of park covered by Latz + Partner's design have two parts:

- the first part of the Fatwalk - will create a new riverside cycling and walking partland route
- East India Dock Basin - where a park and visitor destination linked to the Thames will emerge.

Design for London

Design for London is the Mayor’s Architecture and Urbanism Studio. Their role is to work with the many parties who shape the city to ensure that development takes place within the context of a coherent strategic approach. Design for London have been providing advice and support to the LTGDC on all design aspects of the Lea River Park project since its inception 2006, and will continue to play this role throughout the delivery of phase 1. www.designforlondon.gov.uk

 

Tower Hamlets Council

Tower Hamlets Council is made up of 51 elected local councillors from 17 wards, also known as local voting areas, across the borough. Each ward is represented by three councillors. London Borough of Newham
